Monday, September 8

Arrive in New Orleans! We’ll transfer to our hotel in the French Quarter. This evening, we’ll enjoy a group dinner at Arnaud’s (D)

Tuesday, September 9

Start our day with breakfast (B) at the hotel before meeting our local guide in the lobby for a full day of sightseeing. Begin at Jackson Square, where the stunning St. Louis Cathedral serves as a backdrop for exploring the historic French Quarter. Next, visit the picturesque Garden District, known for its oak-lined streets and antebellum mansions, where we can enjoy charming shops and local restaurants. Discover unique burial practices at St. Louis Cemetery #3 and learn about the cultural heritage of New Orleans. Delve into the rich history of the African American community in the Antebellum Slave Quarters and Tremé, and pay our respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Slave at Augustine Church. Experience the unique wetlands of Louisiana on an airboat ride through 20,000 acres of cypress swamp near Jean Lafitte National Historical Park. After dinner on your own, we’ll embark on an evening ghost pub crawl through the French Quarter, where we'll hear eerie tales and visit haunted bars, with two drinks included. (Note: Tours end by 10 PM.) 

Wednesday, September 10

We’ll begin our day with breakfast (B) at the hotel before meeting our local guide for a half-day Voodoo tour of the French Quarter. Starting near the tomb of Marie Laveau, the iconic Voodoo Queen, we'll learn about the differences between Haitian Voodoo, New Orleans Voodoo, Santeria, and Hoodoo. We’ll visit culturally significant sites like Congo Square, known for Voodoo ceremonies and as the birthplace of jazz. Explore Laveau’s old home and hear stories about her life, zombie lore, Voodoo dolls, and Afro-Caribbean medicine. We'll also discover the contributions of figures like Sanite Dede and Voodoo's role in social movements. Lunch on your own.

Dinner on your own before or after our visit to Myrtle’s Plantation, renowned as one of America’s most haunted locations. As you tour the historic grounds, listen to ghost stories rooted in the plantation's 200-year legacy, enhanced by the ambiance of its picturesque architecture. This experience promises a captivating journey into the supernatural and rich history of the Deep South. Round-trip transfers with a local guide are included.

Thursday, September 11

Enjoy breakfast (B) at the hotel before spending a free day exploring the sights of New Orleans. In the evening, savor dinner at Commanders Palace (D), a landmark in the Garden District since 1893, known for its award-winning food and service, and a glimpse into the city’s storied past. After dinner, join our local guide for a private paranormal investigation at two haunted locations in the French Quarter. You'll hear a brief history of each site and receive paranormal equipment like SLS cameras and spirit boxes, with instruction on how to use them. The investigation, lasting about three hours with minimal walking (4 to 5 blocks), allows you to explore and capture evidence of paranormal activity, assisted by your guide.

Friday, September 12

Breakfast this morning is at our hotel (B) Meet your local guide who will assist you in the transfer to the airport. Depart for home.
