DAY 1 Wednesday, July 28 - Fairbanks
Arrive in Fairbanks, the heart of Alaska's interior, known as the "Golden Heart City." Check into your hotel and prepare for an unforgettable Alaskan adventure!
DAY 2 Thursday, July 29 - Fairbanks
This morning, take a Gold Dredge 8 tour with the chance to pan for your own gold. Enjoy a miner's lunch before taking a cruise on an authentic Sternwheeler Riverboat down the Chena River. The evening is at leisure in Fairbanks.
DAY 3 Friday, July 30 - Denali
Embark on a scenic rail journey to Denali National Park, home to North America's tallest peak. Upon arrival, check into the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge for a two-night stay. Discover a range of optional activities, including husky homestead tours, river rafting, and flightseeing adventures.
DAY 4 Saturday, July 31 - Denali
Explore Denali National Park on a Tundra Wilderness Tour, watching for glimpses of North America’s tallest mountain as well as Denali's "Big Five"; bears, moose, caribou, wolves and Dall sheep. Later today, you may want to simply relax with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Nenana River. Visit the Grizzly Burger or grab a slice at Lynx Creek Pizza.
DAY 5 Sunday, August 1 - McKinley
Transfer by motorcoach to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. After getting settled in, have a glass of wine out on the deck or sit and gaze at the majesty of "The Great One" from the lodge's treehouse designed and built by Pete Nelson of Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters.
DAY 6 Monday, August 2 - Kenai
Next you'll head by motorcoach across the stunning Kenai peninsula to Cooper Landing and the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.
DAY 7 Tuesday, August 3 - Kenai Peninsula
Today is your full day to design your own adventure while staying in the Kenai Peninsula! World-famous fishing, scenic float trips and hiking are all located just a short distance from the lodge’s front door. Later, return to your bungalow-style room with its wood-burning stove and sun porch for an evening of pure relaxation.
DAY 8 Wednesday, August 4 - Sail from Whittier
Travel by motorcoach to Whittier and your awaiting ship. Embark and start exploring and enjoying the ship with delicious food and fun entertainment, you are sure to have an enjoyable evening. We sail this evening. (D)
DAY 9 Thursday, August 5 - Hubbard Glacier
View the largest tidewater glacier in North America from the best viewing spot on the ship. Nicknamed the “Galloping Glacier,” because it is quickly moving toward the Gulf of Alaska and measures 76 miles long and plunges 1,200 feet into the bay. Have your camera handy to capture the beauty of the glacier and surrounding wildlife. (B,L,D)
DAY 10 Friday, August 6 - Glacier Bay National Park
Be sure to be on deck, or on your private balcony, to view the stunning scenery as we glide through Glacier Bay. The bay is a natural habitat for marine life such as whales, seals, porpoises and sea otters. Experience the majesty and power of the actively-calving glaciers, as icebergs thunder and crash into the sea around us. See some of the world’s most spectacular tidewater glaciers such as Margerie Glacier and Johns Hopkins Glacier. Have your camera and binoculars ready! (B,L,D)
DAY 11 Saturday, August 7 - Skagway
Known by hopeful gold rushers as the “Gateway to the Klondike Gold Fields,” Skagway retains its history with an outstanding collection of memorabilia. You may choose a variety of excursion such as the White Pass Route Railroad to the Klondike Summit and Yukon; an unforgettable journey climbing nearly 3,000 feet over 20 miles of steep grades and cliff-hanging turns with breathtaking views of mountains, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, and historic sites. Or catch a show in town that is a fun, interactive show depicting the history of the Gold Rush Era. (B,L,D)
DAY 12 Sunday, August 8 - Juneau
Perched on a thin strip of land at the mouth of Gold Creek, Juneau is one of America's most beautiful state capitals, with the looming summits of Mt. Juneau and Mt. Roberts providing a gorgeous backdrop. A popular option tour would be to Mendenhall Glacier, the world’s most photographed glacier, followed by an unforgettable whale watching cruise. (B,L,D)
DAY 13 Monday, August 9 - Ketchikan
The “Salmon Capital” of the world was once the ancestral home of the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian tribes. Ketchikan boasts the world’s largest totem pole collection, which is not only a major attraction, but also a continuing art form. Take an optional tour, or explore the notorious Creek Street on your own. This quaint village is just three miles long and three blocks wide. (B,L,D)
DAY 14 Tuesday, August 10 - Inside Passage Sailing
Today we will enjoy a full day cruising the protected waters of the Inside Passage. Enjoy the procession of birds and sea mammals on British Columbia’s spectacular coastline. Listen to the naturalist speak about Alaskan marine life. Keep an eye out for whales; during the summer, more than 2,000 of these magnificent giants of the sea are known to feed in the waters off Alaska. (B,L,D)
DAY 15 Wednesday, August 11 - Arrive in Vancouver and return home
Disembark in Vancouver and transfer to the airport for our return flight home. So much more than just a destination, we depart with vivid memories that will last a lifetime and new friends. (B)
