Friday, June 21: Arrive in Salt Lake City

Arrive in Salt Lake City, “The City of Saints” founded by Brigham Young in 1847. This evening we enjoy a Welcome Dinner with our travel companions. (D)

Saturday, June 22: Salt Lake City—West Yellowstone

Enjoy a panoramic Salt Lake City Tour featuring the unique downtown area, State Capitol, Temple Square and the This is the Place Monument, where Brigham Young envisioned the building of the Mormon City. Later relax and enjoy the drive north into Idaho before arriving in the small town of West Yellowstone, Montana for a 2-night stay. The gateway town sits at the popular west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park established in 1872. (B)

Sunday, June 23: Wildlife Safari & Yellowstone National Park

This morning embark on your Wildlife Safari & Yellowstone National Park Tour. A local guide joins us for a day of touring & to give us a ‘safari experience’ for the best opportunity to view some of the park’s astounding array of wildlife such as elk, bears, wolves, moose, sheep and bison along with many species of bird life including bald eagles. The amazing park also features over 10,000 hot springs, thundering waterfalls, geysers and endless forests. The day features incredible scenery as you drive through the park and a stop is made to see Yellowstone Lake. Of course, the day is not complete without a visit to the park’s most famous attraction, Old Faithful Geyser which shoots a plume of steam skyward about every 90 minutes. Enjoy time to wander, shop or have a bite to eat in this area around the historic Old Faithful Inn. Return to our hotel after this full day Yellowstone exploration. (B)

Monday, June 24: West Yellowstone—Jackson

This morning enjoy a visit to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, a chance to experience the world of grizzly bears and gray wolves. Located in West Yellowstone, the animals at the center are unable to survive in the wild and serve as ambassadors for their wild counterparts. Later travel south towards Jackson, WY. Enroute visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art featuring 14 galleries filled with paintings, sculptures and other artwork. The museum sits on a cliff overlooking the National Elk Refuge, the building seems to come from the earth itself, capturing the natural beauty of the surroundings. The artist represented range from early American tribes to contemporary art devoted to nature. Later arrive in the quiet cowboy & resort town of Jackson, WY for a two-night stay. The town has developed into an amazing getaway for people from all walks of life where the Old West and New are splendidly combined. Be sure to visit the colorful Million Dollar Cowboy Bar with its saddle-shaped barstools. (B)

Tuesday, June 25: Grand Teton National Park—Snake River Float

Today visit the spectacular Grand Teton National Park.  Towering more than a mile above the valley of Jackson Hole, the Teton Mountain Range is one of the youngest ranges on the continent rising 14,000 feet and supporting a dozen mountain glaciers. Later outside of Jackson take a scenic Snake River Float Trip with an experienced and knowledgeable guide through this pristine landscape. Our guide will discuss the history, geology and wildlife of the region. Maybe see beaver, cutthroat trout, cliff swallows, pelicans, osprey and bald eagles on your journey.  Return to Jackson for an evening at your own pace in this great western town. (B,D)

Wednesday, June 26: Park City, Utah

Today travel to Park City, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics and one of the most beautiful resort areas in North America. Visit the Utah Olympic Park and enjoy a movie that features the Game’s highlights. Next visit the museum filled with memorabilia from the Olympic Games. In the city center, enjoy a stroll down Main Street filled with over 64 historic buildings, charming shops, galleries and boutiques. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner with our fellow travelers. (B,D)

Thursday, June 27: Salt Lake City-Flight Home

Transfer to the Salt Lake City airport for our flight home filled with wonderful memories of our Yellowstone & the Wild West Tour. (B)
