What to Do:
- Visit the mighty Gullfoss waterfall: One of the most popular attractions in Iceland, you won’t want to miss this spectacular waterfall, which also happens to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe
- Walk through the rift valley: This area marks the separation between the North American and the European tectonic plates and is called a national park called Thingvellir
- Boat Cruises: Take a tour through icebergs with opportunities for whale watching
- Wildlife: Witness the majestic Icelandic horses running wild against backdrops of majestic glaciers and geysers or see puffins (known as the “clown of the sea”)
- Botanical Garden: While in northern Iceland, visit Akureyri to see native Icelandic plants in the botanical garden
- Hiking through Skaftafell National Park: Hike through the park, where some scenes of the James Bond movie Die Another Day were filmed and see the largest glacier (Vatnajökull ) flowing into Lake Jökulsárlón that forms icebergs
