SATURDAY, AUGUST 10: ARRIVE HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
Today we board our flight bound for Canada’s Atlantic Coast. Arrive in Halifax transfer to our hotel for a one-night stay. Halifax, is the largest urban area in Atlantic Canada, and is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 11: BADDECK
This morning we travel to Cape Breton Island.  Enjoy a scenic drive around Bras D’or Lake to the lakeside resort town of Baddeck.  This afternoon visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Museum to view many of Bell’s artifacts, inventions and personal mementos. Later check into our hotel for a two-night stay in Baddeck, a quaint community with a bustling village and the gateway to the world-famous Cabot Trail.  Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers featuring some local fare. (B,D)

MONDAY, AUGUST 12: CABOT TRAIL - BADDECK
Enjoy a journey along the famous Cabot Trail explored by Englishman John Cabot in the late 15th century. The Cabot Trail is one of the most spectacular highways in North America. Along the way stop in the seafaring town of Margaree Harbor and visit the scenic city of Cheticamp, known for its hook rugs. Then follow the trail to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where deep-walled canyons, sandy beaches and majestic cliffs are found. Return to our hotel for an evening at leisure. (B)

TUESDAY, AUGUST 13: FERRY - PEI - CHARLOTTETOWN
Board a ferry and travel to Prince Edward Island (PEI). Enroute cross the Northumbreland Strait, which separates Nova Scotia and New Brunswick from Prince Edward Island. This area features some of the warmest waters of the North Atlantic. Later arrive for a two-night stay in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island’s capital city with small town charm and narrow streets lined with quaint homes. (B)

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14: CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI SIGHTSEEING
Today enjoy a Prince Edward Island Tour. Visit the College of Piping to learn about traditional Celtic music. Later travel through Prince Edward Island National Park with its varied landscapes and wildlife along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Visit Cavendish to tour the Green Gables Farmhouse & Museum, the setting of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s popular novel, Anne of Green Gables. Tonight, enjoy a Lobster Dinner with our fellow travelers. (B,D)

THURSDAY, AUGUST 15: HOPEWELL ROCKS - MONCTON
Today’s scenic drive begins as you depart Prince Edward Island and cross the Confederation Bridge into New Brunswick. The scenery unfolds as you make your way through New Brunswick and drive to the Bay of Fundy area featuring the highest tides in the world. Stop to discover the iconic Hopewell Rocks, the flowerpot shaped rocks are 4-stories high at low tide & appear as tiny islands at high tide. Hopewell Rocks is a place to pause and appreciate a remarkable story interwoven through time, tide and nature. Later arrive in nearby Moncton for a one-night stay in the geographic center of New Brunswick. (B,D)

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16: LUNENBURG - HALIFAX
Today’s scenic drive begins as you head southeast from Moncton back into Nova Scotia to visit the seafaring town of Lunenburg featuring a colorful waterfront with crayon-colored houses on picturesque narrow streets and captivating architecture. Meet your local guide for a Lunenburg Walking Tour featuring Old Town which was bestowed the honor as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995. Learn about this fishing village & hear stories about seafaring and rum-running. Later arrive Halifax for a two-night stay. Halifax sits in the center of Nova Scotia’s east coast and is an important seaport with one of the world’s largest natural harbors. (B)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 17: HALIFAX SIGHTSEEING
Today enjoy a Halifax City Tour featuring Bedford Basin, the Public Gardens, St. Mary’s University, Point Pleasant Park and the Citadel, a large star-shaped masonry fort built to protect the city. This afternoon we visit a Nova Scotia highlight, picturesque Peggy’s Cove famous for its rock shore and lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  Later enjoy a bit of leisure time in Halifax which features great museums, art galleries, fun brew pubs and a wonderful culinary scene. Tonight, we join our fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner. (B,D)

SUNDAY, AUGUST 18: FLY HOME
Today we transfer to the airport in Halifax for our flight home filled with wonderful memories of your Nova Scotia & the Canadian Maritimes Tour.  (B)
